CDG or Orly to Paris: why choose a private driver?

With Charles de Gaulle to the north and Orly to the south, Paris has two major airports. Once you have your bags, there are several ways into the city. Here is how to choose.

Distances to know

At peak hours these times can stretch considerably: allow a margin, especially for departures.

  • CDG – central Paris: about 35 km, 45 minutes in normal traffic.
  • Orly – central Paris: about 16 km, 30 minutes in normal traffic.

Public transport and taxis

Public transport is cheap but awkward with suitcases, children or after a long-haul flight. Taxis need no booking, at the cost of a sometimes long queue at busy times.

The benefits of a private airport driver

  • Welcome in the arrivals hall with your name on a sign.
  • Flight tracking and pickup adjusted if you are delayed.
  • Fixed fare confirmed at booking: from €75 for a CDG airport transfer and €65 for an Orly airport transfer to central Paris.
  • Vehicle chosen in advance: sedan, SUV or van to suit your luggage.
  • Baby seat, booster and Fast Track options.

When is a private driver the right call?

A business trip with a meeting on arrival, a family with young children, a group with lots of luggage, a late arrival or welcoming a client: in all these cases the punctuality and comfort of a private transfer make the difference.
